(Newsroom Panama) Two of Panama’s most used recreation spots, Via Argentina and Calle Uruguay are about to get a $30 million facelift.
The project includes putting cables underground, expanding sidewalks, improved drainage and installation of new street furniture.
The budget also covers the construction of underground parking for 850 cars, 400 at Uruguay and 450 at Argentina.
The Municipality has put the contract out for tender and proposals are due by September 21.
Construction could be completed in 2013.
The project was originally led by the Ministry of Public Works, but slid off their priority radar a so the municipality stepped in and will use equity and loan financing.
