(Livinglanguage.com) Have you heard about music from Panama? Or can you name a famous musician from the Central American country? Panama is an extraordinary source of amazing music and most of it remains certainly unknown.
The thin, tropical bridge that connects North America with South America has more than three million people from the most diverse origins and cultures. Their music is a blend of all those cultures and a mix of Latin sounds, Caribbean rhythms, European hints and Indigenous tradition. The music from Panama from the 60′s and the 70′s reflects perfectly the real cross of cultures and turbulent times in the past country’s history.
I would love to share with you two compilations of Panamanian music. These are two of my favorites records of all time. The two compilations were never released before outside of the Central American Isthmus.
