The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, when the boat BIM 4302 along with coastguard boat BPC-3226 observed a boat named ‘Lo que es’ (What it is).
The speedboat was traveling along a river known as Pedro y Pablo, and those aboard, upon spotting the presence of the authorities, fled to the island of San Miguel, according to SENAN reports.
From the central base of SENAN, a helicopter will be sent out in the early hours of today, Monday, to continue the search for those responsible for this drug shipment, said the press release.
