(Prensa.com) The first seven tons of drugs intercepted by the National Police so far this year were destroyed yesterday, Wednesday at the Cerro Patacón landfill, officials reported.
During the anti-drug operations carried out in the country, authorities have seized a total of 7,031.68 kilograms of cocaine, 54.39 kilograms of marijuana, and approximately 16.96 kilograms of heroin, according to data released by the National Police.
Agents of the Judicial Investigation Department, in conjunction with staff from the Special Forces Unit, were tasked with removing the drugs from the streets in order to then destroy the substance in the presence of judicial authorities.
