Panamanian President Martinelli: Crime levels should drop

(Prensa.com) The president, Ricardo Martinelli, said Saturday that “security in the country has been increasing and have reduced crime and theft.”

However, the president admitted that “we must continue working until the crime down to levels that are tangible for the population.”

The President made these remarks in La Chorrera, where he conducted the funeral of Lou Yessenia Kan Wu Ken Young, Joel Liu Wong, Samuel Lee Georgina Zeng Chen and Chen, the five victims of Alcibiades Mendez confessed murderer.

The funerals were held in the church San Francisco de Paula. There were two funerals, the first (of Yessenia Kan Lou) celebrated what the priest Francisco Verar and the second (the rest of the dead), the metropolitan archbishop, José Domingo Ulloa.

Martinelli said, according to a press release of the Presidency that such crimes should not happen in a peaceful country like Panama. Therefore, continue to “work tirelessly to provide more security in the country,” he said in the press release.
