(prensa.com) Panama rose seven places in the FIFA rankings, according to the classification in February, which was released yesterday, Wednesday. As such, the Panamanian selection is now ranked 60 on the list.
The Sele took third place in the Central American Soccer Cup of the Central American Soccer League (UNCAF), which ended on Jan. 23. The overall balance of Panama in the cup was three wins and two draws, with seven goals in favor and one against.
The next round to be played by the national team will be on Feb. 8, when they play a friendly game against Peru. The match will be played on Peruvian turf beginning at 3:35 p.m. at the November 25 stadium in the city of Moquegua.
Meanwhile, Spain, 2010 World Cup champion, remains in first place in the FIFA rankings, while the Netherlands and Germany hold the second and third positions, respectively.
In turn, three South-American teams – Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay – remain among the 10 best in the world. Japan, meanwhile, returned to the top 20 after their victory in the Asia Cup.
