(Panama Digest) Vice Minister of Tourism Ernesto Orillac presented Panama as the new Miami at this week’s World Travel Market in London.
“Panama has positioned itself as the new Miami on this side of the World,” Orillac said, noting that the country draws not only an increasing number of business travelers but also shopping tourism, mainly thanks to the free zone.
As evidence, he cited the 12 to 13 percent growth of visitors to Panama compared to 11 percent last year, the near doubling of the number of hotels over the last four years and the growth of Panamanian gastronomy and night life.
