(PanamaInvestorBlog) After the many criticisms and concerns that led to the preliminary figures of the XI National Census of Population and Housing VII, the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) of the Comptroller General’s Office finally informed how many of us: 3 million 405 000 813 inhabitants.

The head of INEC, Danis Cedeno, said the total figure, one million 712 thousand 584 were men and one million 693 thousand 229 are women, which means that the country had more men than women.

The province of Panama, meanwhile, is still reporting the highest concentration of inhabitants: 70 713 000 million people or 50% of the population.

Why the difference?

Cedeño said that inspections were carried out throughout the country to ensure the quality and coverage of the 2010 National Census, which took a team of the entity to visit again some homes.
