(prensa.com) The National Police (PN) burned a total of 3.5 tons of drugs at the Cerro Patacón landfill, informed officials on Wednesday.
Of this amount, approximately 3.4 tons were cocaine. The drugs also included 90.6 kilos of marijuana and 728.9 grams of heroin, reported police commissioner Didier Degracia.
The police chief said that the PN has destroyed a total of 53.5 tons of drugs this year; a product of the last ten seizures in both the capital and the countryside.
During the process of destroying the drugs, representatives of the Attorney General’s Office, Ministry of Health, National Police, University of Panama, National Assembly, and civic clubs were in attendance.
