Panama Ironman 2012 to be held February 12

Panama's Ironman 2012 will be held on fEBRUARY 12TH

(Prensa.com) With the participation of around 700 competitors and nearly $ 75,000 in prizes, the next February 12 will take place at Ironman 70.3 Panama. This event takes place in the form of triathlon, which includes cycling, swimming and running.

The official launch of the event was done yesterday, Monday 16 January, the President of the Republic and stressed that the activity attended by the best exponents of this sport in the world.

Athletes of the size of the Argentine Oscar Galindez and American Chris Latio are part of the leading figures attending the event, which is the first Latin American in 2012 and gives points for the World Ironman.

The swim test consists of a route of 1.9 kilometers (1.2 miles) in the Pacific Ocean, based on the Balboa Pier. Then the distance of 90 kilometers (56 miles) of cycling will appeal across the Bridge of the Americas to pass Arraiján and then return to the last transition point located at the Figali Convention Center.
