Panama Health Ministry hires foreign doctors

01/15/2011 By Panama Eric

(prensa.com) Vergara said the Health Technical Council made a “rigorous” review of the credentials of the specialists, who will begin working in the next two weeks.
The doctors will be assigned to hospitals in Las Tablas, Chitré, Veraguas and Penonomé. They are from countries such as Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia.
Vergara made the announcement while attending an event in Los Santos. The country is facing a doctor shortage because of the expansion of the number of clinics and hospitals.
