(prensa.com) National water entity IDAAN has reiterated their call for the general public to conserve water, as potable water production has been affected by the high level of turbidity in Alajuela Lake.
This was announced on the Telemetro Reporta news program yesterday by Federico Rodríguez, head of IDAAN’s Potable Water department. Rodríguez explained that, during a flyby, officials observed that the entire lake – source of the crude water for the treatment plant in Chilibre – is brown.
He said there was also a lot of mud, dirt, and trees, which, he reiterated, is “troubling.”
Up against this situation, the official called on residents of the lower parts of Panama City to ration their water use, since water is supplied to these areas during a greater number of hours. This is the case in San Francisco, Río Abajo, Parque Lefevre, and Chanis, informed the official.
