Panama Canal Reservoirs Reach Capacity

11/14/2010 By Panama Eric

(Panamadigest) The Panama Canal Authority put out an advisory to Canal bank residents that the Gatun and Alajuela Lakes have reached their maximum water capacity.

The Authority will be draining some of the water through the Gatun and Madden dams as a preventative measure and have asked canal shore residents to be on alert.

A siren will sound 15-minutes prior to the opening of the floodgates.
