(PRnoticiaspanama) The countries of Panama and Costa Rica, signed a strategic alliance to strengthen the management of micro and sustainable businesses that contribute to job creation in frontier territories of both nations.
The bi-national project called “Inclusive Production Chain Border Territories” was agreed by a cooperation agreement signed between the governing authorities of the subject MSMEs in Panama and Costa Rica.
It fell to the Minister of AMPYME, Giselle Burillo Saiz and Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry of Costa Rica, Luis Alvarez, sign the international agreement during a ceremony held in this capital.
The agreement will allow the project on the border of Costa Rica and Panama, managed by CENPROMYPE in coordination with the Department of International Cooperation and AMPYME MEIC.
The project whose total amounts to 1,205,000.00 euros in three years, will contribute to the development of productive chains that promote local development, poverty reduction and employment generation with gender equity.
The project beneficiaries will be the micro and small businesses, associations of micro and small enterprises, workers directly and indirectly, local associations and business networks.
This project will be covered in the border area between Costa Rica and Panama, which involves the participation of the cantons of Coto Brus and Brokers in Costa Rican territory and Renaissance and Baru district, in the region of Panama.
AMPYME Minister, Giselle Burillo, said the regional project through CENPROMYPE drives provide better opportunities for micro and small businesses in this area between the two neighboring nations.
“The program will have successful results and fruits that are reflected in equity opportunities that people receive from both regions that remain well-being and peaceful border,” said the head of the AMPYME.
The Minister Burillo, concluded by saying that the key to success in countering poverty and achieve growth with equity for humans is to provide the real opportunities, entrepreneurship, employment and support small businesses.
For its part, Costa Rican Vice Minister, Luis Alvarez, said he was satisfied that this effort will add a strategy to strengthen the development of business initiatives in the border areas of both countries.
He argued that the model will enhance the involvement of SMEs Panamanian Costa Rican SMEs, opening opportunities for business growth that will contribute to employment generation and economic development in a region with greater social and economic backwardness.
The project will strengthen the organizational structure of two chains in each of the identified border areas, it will strengthen the capacity for business development and leadership of companies and institutions involved in the production chain.
The agreement was signed as witnesses to CENPROMYPE executive director, Ingrid Figueroa and CEO of Austrian Development Cooperation, Hubert Neuwirth.
