(prensa.com)Latin America is going through a positive economic cycle, but the worst thing that can occur in the region is for a complacent attitude to prevail, which would bring uncertainty to the markets.
This is the opinion of Enrique García, the executive director of the Andean Development Corporation, who made those statements at a forum in Panama convened by the National Center of Competitiveness to present statistics about the region.
García said that Chile and Panama top the list of the 10 most competitive countries in the Latin American area. Chile ranked 30th in the ranking of the World Economic Forum, while Panama was 53rd, followed by Costa Rica at 56.
He commended the increasing competitiveness in the region, but argued that it is necessary to “build long-term consensus agendas” that lead to sustained growth.
