(Panama Digest) While doing jail time in Paris, former Panamanian dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega has expressed an interest in collecting his retirement benefits.
Thee Consulate of Panama in Paris confirmed Noriega’s request for a “proof of identity” that the Social Security Fund requires to issue payments.
This is the only assistance that Noriega has asked of the consulate during his 10 months in La Santé prison, says Panamanian consul in Paris Aristides Gomez, who added that the consulate knows nothing about the likelihood of Noriega’s return to Panama in the coming weeks.
