(Prensa.com) A crowd of protesters from the comarca Ngäbe Buglé blocked the Pan-American Highway yesterday for more than seven hours.
The protesters were cleared from the highway shortly after 10 a.m. by about 300 riot officers. The protest, which started at about 3 a.m., was held near the community of San Félix in the province of Chiriquí.
Police arrested 15 of the protesters. No serious injuries were reported. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters.
The protest backed up traffic on the highway for several hours.
