(Panama Digest) The Intercontinental Hotels Group signed a franchise agreement on Thursday to open a new Holiday Inn Express in Panama City.
This will be the sixth Intercontinental for Panama’s capital city which already includes the Miramar, Playa Bonita, the City of Knowledge Holiday Inn, the Crown Plaza Hotel and a Staybridge Suites currently under construction.
The 12-story, 198-guest room Holiday Inn Express will be built on Calle 50 not far from Calle Uruguay and is scheduled for a July 2012 opening, the company said.
In addition to a swimming pool, gym, business center, two parking levels and guest laundry facilities, the value-oriented hotel will also feature the complimentary Express Start breakfast bar with a full range of breakfast items, including a rotation of egg and meat selections, biscuits, yogurt, fruit and the brand’s proprietary cinnamon roll and Smart Roast coffee.
It will be owned and managed by Latin American Hospitality Management Inc., a division of the San Salvador-based Grupo Agrisal.
