(TVN Noticias) Gary Saavedra will become the first person to surf the large inter-oceanic route of the Panama Canal during the Canal Red Bull Cross on Saturday. To meet the challenge, the surfer azueruense completed the feat with a victory pass at 4pm on the Amador Causeway area, so that all the Panamanian people can see you surf and celebrate with him entering the Guinness Book of Records.
¨ I feel very prepared for Saturday, I’m anxious to achieve this goal and enter the Guinness Book of Records making history in my country ¨, said Saavedra. ¨ I have been training hard and knowing that the eyes of the world are committed me a lot about Panama ¨, said the surfer who has made headlines around the world with this challenge. Gary confirmed that this Friday will arrive in Panama on the signing official Guinness World Records, Michael Janela, who will be mounted on the boat that will create the wave that Gary will surf to certify the feat.
At the Red Bull Cross Canal, Gary will surf a wave created by a wakesurfing boat for four hours and break two world records: The longest wave ever surfed, and more time on a wave not static.
