(Panama Digest) French customs seized 702 kilos of cocaine coming from Panama, the largest amount of cocaine ever seized in the shipping industry, France’s Budget Ministry announced Monday.
In January, customs officials found the 605 packets of cocaine hidden in blankets in three containers heading through the northwest port of Le Havre for Belgium. Estimates put the drugs street value at over 28 million euros.
The seizure came after years of monitoring a group known for trafficking in cocaine.
