(Panama Digest) A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit about 70 miles south of the city of David in the province of Chiriqui at 11:34 a.m. on Sunday.
No damages or injuries have been reported, according the the University of Panama’s Institute of Geosciences.
The institute recently installed a seismograph in Boquete to better monitor earthquakes in the Chiriqui region. It reports that Boquete authorities, most notably the mayor and the National Civil Protection Service, have not shown much support for the studies.
