(Prensa.com) Tourism has given a new twist to agricultural activities, even, has brought good economic returns, according to leaders of this sector.
In Chiriqui, for example, from an average of 20 existing agritourism farms, over 50% are located in the district of Bugaba and, of them, the highest percentage in the districts of Cerro Punta and Volcan. In these places the industry develops livestock (dairy and beef), special coffee farming, horticulture, all focused towards growth of agroforestry.
Led by walking or riding horses by certain sectors of these farms, spas are promoted for rafting, educational tours exploring trails and gardens, birding, milking dairy cattle, among other activities.
Many of them even have restaurants, craft sales, domestic and international flowers, medicinal plants and other attractions, all wrapped in a very pleasant atmosphere.
For now the service provided to visitors, the owners of these farms have been changing positively images of them, making them very attractive to just see them.
La Isleta is a special case, since it is the only farmer in the order that is located in the eastern Chiriqui, in the district of Tole, and their offer is varied, wrapped in natural profiles in areas surrounded by a river and sea entries .
