(EyeonPanama) For the second consecutive year with a successful
triple growth of visitors in just three months, again the innovative concept
ARTBLOCK the art capital of Panama, Casco Viejo.
This concept was born in Switzerland in 1970 under the name of ART BASEL hand three
(3) art collectors who wanted an arts festival open to all and is now
largest arts festival in the world. This concept has proven successful in cities like
Miami, Buenos Aires and New York.
In Panama, this initiative took place in 2010 in the old part of the hand
CAP Foundation ARTBLOCK mark this year seeks to involve organizations
foundations and business schools understand how investing in the arts can affect
local economy.
ARTBLOCK is an informal evening of art and “culture crawl” in Panama, where
local businesses and the historic streets of Casco Viejo host art exhibitions, arts
original music and performances of all genres.
ARTBLOCK not follow the traditional model is already known, its aim is that guests
arts experience that can be seen behind the doors open public spaces
exposing the media, guests and artists to methods that have not seen before. Due to the
wide range of styles exposed, there is something for everyone from the lover of art
experience to those who have not found interesting artistic events in
past.
There are not many events in Panama, led to a wide range of demographics. The
ARTBLOCK founders have designed an event that attracts different groups
people – creating a unique community experience in the city. This is a
advantage for the business class, as they now have the opportunity to impact many
markets while increasing the dollar value of your business.
There for all types of audiences: local couples, all ages, collectors and
art buyers, singles between 20 and 30 years, foreign residents, first-in
the appreciation of art students, artists and musicians, entrepreneurs interested in
Old Town development.
ART IN PANAMA IS THERE?
The director and co-founder of the Kimberly Kyle Hall Foundation is a passion for
art betting and local Panamanian values art. Krista Quinn, co-founder is also
Music composer and musician. They recognize the great potential of artists
premises without an opportunity to exhibit their works will not develop a
fullness. The objectives to be addressed are:
1. Support local artists in creating new and original works: Give them a
platform to exhibit and perform.
2. Provide greater exposure for local businesses that support the arts.
3. Increase interest and exposure to the public in local artists, musicians and

The 2011 season of ARTBLOCK will begin next Thursday 3 February from
7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. beginning with a press conference for the media

SEVEN (7) EMERGING ARTISTS / light fixtures
This year has been chosen seven (7) artists with exceptional potential for a successful career
art. It is also the first time these artists will work together. Every artist 2D
(Painting, graphic design and photography) and during this event will be the first time will work
3D space, for which they are made of seven (7) light fixtures in the Town
Viejo.
As part of preparing for ARTBLOCK artists, will be conducting 2 workshops
Art on Sunday 23 and Sunday 30 January 1:00 to 6:00 pm on the roof of a
mansion in Casco Viejo. Members of the media are invited to participate if they wish
take pictures.
