(prensa.com) President of the Republic, Ricardo Martinelli, announced it will construct a new water treatment in the area east of Panama City.
The president’s statements come after the water supply crisis which occurred in the capital since last December.

“We will do another water treatment plant in Panama City, near the river Bayano for giving water to Panama this whole area and not rely solely on the Lake Madden (Alajuela) and Chilibre drinking water plant,” said Martinelli, according to a statement from the presidency.
The president also said that next week will hold a meeting with directors of the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), to request to be submitted for consideration by the board of management and operation of treatment plant Chilibre.
