5.2-degree earthquake felt along Panama’s western border

(prensa.com) At 12:46 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 degrees on the Richter Scale, hit Panama, along the western border with Costa Rica.  This, according to reports by the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama.

According to the information provided on the website of the institution, the quake had a depth of 5.0 kilometers, while the closest point to its epicenter was located in Puerto Armuelles.

The movement was felt in the areas of Paso Canoas, Puerto Armuelles, Concepción, Alanje, and David, added the report.
