(Prensa.com) In 2010, a total of 2,605 foreigners underwent the necessary procedures at the regional headquarters of the National Immigration Service in the province of Chiriquí, in order to obtain residency in Panama.
Of that total, some 2,324 foreigners requested an extension for three months, while 181 foreigners asked for a one-year extension, and another 100 foreigners submitted an extension request for a period of six months, according to reports from the migration card renewal department.
Among the foreigners requesting extensions were citizens of Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Canada, Nicaragua, Brazil, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela, Belgium, Italy, among others.
