(Panama Digest) Panama kicked off its international tourism campaign today, Wednesday, hoping to draw two million visitors this year.
The new slogan: “Unimos al Mundo”, which translate directly as “We Unite the World.”
Tourism Minister Salomon Shamah said that a bargain $600,000 was invested to produce the television ads for Panama’s new tourism campaign. Placing the ads city by city based on a detailed market study will cost over $4 million by year’s end 2011.
“If we want the campaign to be seen, we have to by air time, space,” Shamah said. “We have to compete if we want to attract tourists.”
There is also an internal tourism campaign called “Discover Your Interior.”
